Imagine that you are working on your computer, frantically trying to complete a project by a deadline that you really should have had better judgement on. When suddenly, the screen goes black. But you still need to complete the project, navigating by guesses and random clicks hoping you were right.
Now imagine the computer that controls your vehicle and all the fancy stuff that appears on your digital dash display doing just that. Going blank or black and leaving you to guess how fast you're going, how much gas is left, etc. That is exactly what Ram Trucks are having happen right now.

New Safety Recall for Ram Trucks - Is Yours Listed?
A new safety recall from the US Department of Transportation and the Traffic Safety division have issued a warning to Ram Truck owners that some new models could have faulty software.

The agency reports say "the "3.5" instrument panel cluster ("IPC") contains software that may cause the cluster to be inoperative at start up and/or while driving". So basically, you are driving blind for navigating the roadway.
The safety division stated that "Failure to display certain information, such as the BRAKE, ESC, and TPMS system warning lights and gear selection indicator, may cause a driver to operate a vehicle in a compromised condition, which can increase the risk of a crash without prior warning. if the cluster were to fail."
Several Ram Truck Models Affected by the Recent Recall in Montana and U.S.
The recall through the Stellantis Group is affecting over 65,000 vehicles across the United States, with several different models of the brand listed for the recall. Those vehicles include:
- Vehicles manufactured between August 2024 and July 2025
- Some 2025-2026 models also affected
- Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks included in recall
Dealers will repair the affected Rams via a software update for free for customers with defective parts. To check to see if your vehicle is part of this recall, the National Highway Safety Transportation offers a VIN identification tool here.
