Missoula Police Arrest Wanted Man on Kim Williams Trail
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 31, 2025, at approximately 1:09 p.m., a Missoula Police Department officer observed an individual he knew as 28-year-old Drew Wombold walking near the 2 mile marker of the Kim Williams trial. The officer was aware that Wombold had an active arrest warrant.
The officer approached Wombold and placed Wombold into handcuffs. He also confirmed the warrant through dispatch. Wombold was placed under arrest once the warrant was confirmed.
In a search incident to arrest, the officer located a brown wallet, a bottle of methadone prescribed to Wombold, and an unused needle. Wombold’s wallet and methadone prescription were placed into a bag to be transported to the jail with him.

At the Missoula County Detention Facility, Wombold’s wallet was placed in his property bin, and his methadone was logged and placed in safekeeping at the jail. After leaving the jail, the officer was contacted by jail staff. A MCDF Detention Officer told the MPD officer that, in conducting his property search of Wombold’s wallet, he had located a small ziplock bag containing a white crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine.
The officer returned to the jail and took possession of the ziplock containing the substance. The officer tested the substance using the TruNarc instrument, and it yielded a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. According to court documents, the gross packing weight for the methamphetamine in the baggie was .4 grams.
