Montana News Roundup: Griz Killed; Angry ‘Cats Sue Trump
Winter is hardly gone, and we already have our first grizzly confrontation in the news, with a bear killed by a shed hunter on the Front.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reports the man was looking for antlers on a bushy hillside near Dupuyer Friday when he spotted the bear at close range.
FWP says the man tried to leave, but the bear charged, so he shot and killed the grizzly.
The bear was identified as an adult sow in good condition with no history of human conflict.
The state has been warning people to be "bear aware" as the grizzlies, and black bears, came out of hibernation a little early this season.
