Trespasser Won’t Stop Stealing From a Missoula Hotel
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 31, 2025, at approximately 4:56 p.m., a Missoula Police Department officer was dispatched to a hotel located in the 3000 block of Stockyard Drive to a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a hotel employee. The employee reported that the male in question had been trespassed on two previous occasions from the hotel, but had returned on several occasions and taken things such as food.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2025, the employee observed the male enter the lobby of the hotel. One of the long-term guests of the hotel reported that the male had grabbed bagels, cream cheese, and towels from the common area and then left through the back door of the hotel.
The guest provided the employee with a picture of the male, which she provided to the officer. The photo showed a white balding male who appeared to be carrying food and a garment-type item in his hands. The employee confirmed that towels had been taken. The employee was not able to access surveillance footage but indicated that her boss would be able to at another time.

Officer Identifies the Suspect
The employee stated that the man is known to reside in an RV parked just a short distance away from the hotel. An officer located the RV and made contact with the male. The male provided an Arizona ID with the name Nile Khalaf. He was advised of his Miranda rights, which he indicated he understood.
Khalaf denied any knowledge of being trespassed from the hotel. Khalaf acknowledged being trespassed from other places, but denied that he was aware he was trespassed from the hotel. A record check revealed that on August 1, 2025, Khalaf was contacted by MPD officers and was informed that he was trespassed from the hotel.
According to court documents, Khalaf stated that he “messed up” and acknowledged entering the hotel and taking the bagels and cream cheese because he was hungry and needed to eat. When asked about taking the towels, Khalaf declined to comment.
