Artists: Help Montana’s Wildlife and Win $2000 in Art Contest
Calling all Artists and conservationists!
Are you an artist who also loves to be a part of outdoor conservation? Here's your chance to use your talents, help bring awareness to Montana's migratory birds, AND possibly win $2,000.
Everyone who purchases a Montana Migratory Bird Hunting License receives a Montana Migratory Bird Stamp. The stamps are beautiful pieces of artwork created by artists submitted each year and voted on by The Wetland Protection Advisory Council.
"The annual Montana Migratory Bird Stamp Art Contest helps Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and partners bring attention to the importance of wetlands and their associated upland habitats to wildlife, landowners, and communities across the state." - Montana FWP.
Are There Any Rules? YES..
There are some interesting rules, so you can't color too much outside the lines for this particular contest. Here are three of the many rules that deserve highlighting.
1.) Your artwork must be lifelike, must be an IDENTIFIABLE Montana species, and must have NO CARTOON-like drawings.
2.) The duck or goose has to be in its natural habitat.
3.) Artwork must be unsigned by the artist.
Montana FWP has a complete list of specific rules and instructions on how to submit your artwork, which can be seen HERE.
You can definitely be creative, but you can't go super crazy and place a goose at a wetland rave wearing a tutu.
There is still time to submit your entry for a chance to win a grand prize of $2000. All Submissions are due JANUARY 31ST! You are also welcome to make multiple submissions.
Good luck! If you do submit an entry, we would love to see it! Send us a message HERE and include a photo of your artwork.
