Radio And Dogs

As most of you know, we have shelter dogs come visit us every Wednesday. We feature them on the air and in an article for Wet Nose Wednesday. It is absolutely my favorite part of the workweek.

Every week, Michael writes up an article on the dog, featuring videos and photos that I've taken. This wasn't a part of my job description, I just love dogs so much and firmly believe they deserve a good life. I went so far as to buy microphones for the interview and a tripod for my iPad, so the featured video would be higher quality.

Unexpected Meet And Greet

One thing I didn't expect? Meeting one of our Wet Nose Wednesday featured pets out in the wild, post-adoption. It happened by chance at Canyon Creek. A sweet, handsome dog walked in carrying his hedgehog stuffie. He settled into the comfy grass while his owner had a refreshing beverage.

My baby Bruce and I walked by on our way to the bar, and Bruce and this dog had a meet and greet. They were both very sweet, giving good booty sniffs. The gentleman who owned the dog introduced himself and said that his boy's name was Buddy. We had a chat about how long Buddy had been living with him, and it was revealed that he'd come from YVAS earlier this year.

I had a hunch and asked what his name was previously. This handsome boy was none other than Tuckums, one of our sweet Wet Nose Wednesday babies.

It was such a wonderful and rewarding interaction. I am so happy to know that Tuckums/Buddy went to a good home, where he is doted on as he deserves. His owner mentioned that he had been in the shelter the longest, and that's why he picked Buddy. I remember that he had been surrendered and returned to the shelter a couple of times because he liked chasing chickens and being generally mischievous. He absolutely deserves a home where he can be himself and be loved.

It was such a wonderful day. Congratulations, Buddy, I hope you have a wonderful life, and I hope to see you again soon!
